A Fabulous Spring....so far

Spring is always a time of mixed emotions and  crossed fingers around here.  Though we love the fact that our winters are short, compared to much of the country, we remain under threat of killer frosts well into April. With the azaleas and dogwoods, as well as a host of other flowers and crops in glorious bloom by mid March and extremely vulnerable, we always dread the possibility of a colorless spring.

We are also perpetually worrying about an early summer. Some years it seems like we've barely gotten our  long johns put away and bam! Those dog days of summer are sucking the life out of us.  Happily, this year has been one of our better ones. The temperatures have been almost ideal, not too hot and not too cool.   Though there was some minor frost damage to a few crops we have been blessed with a fabulous spring overall.

  2. No,a few rays of sun light were peeking through just enough to make it work.
